The Eyelash Effect

It is said that a butterfly flapping its wings can have a profound effect on distant weather:
In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions; where a small change at one place in a nonlinear system can result in large differences to a later state. Wikipedia
There is just such a profound effect that many of us have experienced firsthand. I call it the eyelash effect.
It works like this:
Boy sees girl.
Girl sees boy who sees her.
Girl lowers, or flaps, her eyelashes.
Nine months later, YOU are born!
I listed the steps of the effect in the present tense to make it sound more immediate, which isn’t entirely accurate because you are already here. And does it all come down to the eyelashes? Hardly. Eyelash flapping alone does not cause a sperm and egg to make contact. There are quite a few intermediary steps, just as there is not an immediate hurricane when a butterfly flaps its wings. In the best case scenario, love is involved ~ for the boy and girl, that is.
