Sutures and Tape

When we are split open, exposed, ripped apart, we hope for an experienced surgeon to artfully suture our injuries back together.

Often, we use mere bandaids, which can’t hope to bridge the gashes. Whatever we apply, they amount to little more than tape and plastic wrap, which doesn’t help or hide our wounds.

But we have all been scarred, in spirit if not physically. Why try to pretend we were never hurt? Why try to conceal what everyone else has seen and experienced? You can almost guarantee that those who demand you feel shame are concealing their own.

No-one could relate to you if you were flawlessly untouched. So flaunt your wounds, display your scars, brandish your bruises.
