A TACtile Haven

Dianne Denholm heard Rebecca Bluestone speak at a conference about “bucking the system,” which in this instance meant  allowing your unconscious creativity to guide decision making rather than the traditional method of  following what seemed the most rational and practical path. These words  spoke to Dianne’s heart, loud and clear, revealing the vision of a non-profit arts center, focused on sewing, textiles, fiber and fashion arts.

TACtile began to unfold.

Guidespot describes TACtile in such a way that leaves no doubt about its efficacy:

Local fiber-art legend Dianne Denholm, former owner of the much-missed D’Lea’s Fabrics in North Cherry Creek, is the driving force behind the TACtile Textile Arts Center. This facility is a combination learning center, fiber art gallery, and fabric shop. It’s a Westword “Best of Denver” winner, and it is becoming a popular source of inspiration and support for craft enthusiasts across the city.

If you are not feeling inspired yet (impossible!), listen to this indefatigable couple speak, via the magic of the Internet. Rebecca and her husband Robert have been described as “gifted artists” who “articulate in a truly calm and powerful manner” (Trudy Duisenberg, Enloe Medical Center, Chico, CA).

Judy Bronleewe, from Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute added:

[O]ur entire team was blown away by the beauty of the afternoon and the generosity of spirit exhibited by this blessed couple.

The Tactile Arts Center Newsletter informs describes what TACtile is:

A haven for people who love beautiful textiles and related hand arts.

A community center dedicated to the exploration, development and learning

of textile arts.

home for area guilds and groups to host meetings, events, and speakers.

A gallery to exhibit local and national fiber arts and crafts.

center that represents and supports fiber artists working in all forms of media.

.

If this fits your passion, Dianne would welcome your involvement! There are also some amazing classes and workshops to attend.
