A Running Chance

Fences. They protect and they hide. They can be quite decorative, or hideously ominous and imposing.

Some of us feel fenced in, others think everything is greener on the other side. Some of us sit on them, others tear them down. Fences do keep the grandchildren somewhat contained, which allows their grandparents a running chance of catching them.

Will Rogers said: “There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.”

I can be all superior about this, because it is probably impossible for a woman to pee on a fence (unless she has superb balance).
