A Custom Designed Gate Celebrates Our Prairie Roots
A good friend of ours, Gail Snyder, is a multi-talented artist who includes black smithing on her skills list.
Cast your eyes over this custom designed steel gate which now graces the entrance to our backyard patio:
Ted, who is no mean metalworker himself, helped with the constructions, but the design was Gail’s. I had merely made a suggestion that since Ted and I grew up on the Canadian prairies, wheat might be made part of the theme.
I call this spectacular.
(You can still see the yellow dot of paint that the worker from the Gas Company sprayed on the patio stone to mark the gas line. Spectacular is NOT the word I would use for that. The appropriate word is, in fact, one that I do not care to print.)
