I am still playing with the instrument theme. A fairly well known prayer is that of St. Francis of Assisi, where he asks to be an “instrument of peace.” Peace makers are needed at any time, but it is especially high on the list of many people at this time of year, so my Christmas message to anyone who happens to visit this post is “Be an instrument of peace.” Also, if one of those someones is Santa, I assure you I’ve been good this year, 9 times out of 10. * Instrument 2 * A

Think of the delicate instruments in your life: your lungs, your little fingers, an earlobe ~ not to mention the that wisp of hair behind it. So delicate, and yet indispensable, vital to your life and happiness. How is it that a blade of grass, a butterfly, seem so fragile and yet have an amazing amount of strength. Let us hope this beautiful, delicate blue planet of ours has the same strength. Or did I misspeak? Perhaps it is not ours, and it is we who are too “delicate.” T
