    Mathematically Precise and Diaphanous

    . I am grinning as I think of people puzzling over my blog post title, but it will soon become clear. I am still on a crochet binge. I started our with a 1 mm crochet hook, and realized I would need approximately 220 squares to complete my small project. I then switched to a 3.50 mm hook. You can see the larger square should require considerably fewer motifs to complete my crochet garment. It also has a softer hand, which means it will drape better in the final analysis. Do I

    The Poppy ~ a Scarlet Prayer

    A single poppy made an appearance in our garden. The poppy, with its diaphanous petals, ragged at the edges, reminds me of Himalayan prayer flags. But I think the flower itself is a prayer, a scarlet prayer ~ a prayer of passion.     Gossamer Guests

    The other day I visited Sharon Tomlinson at all Norah’S art. She had a fun post called “He knows my shadow,” which caught my eye because I am always on the lookout for good shadows to photograph. I always love to scratch when the inspiration bug bites. Her words prompted the following comment by yours truly: Shadows. They copy us, they play with us. Sometimes they even overshadow us. They are mysterious and diaphanous, our gossamer guests who love to follow us into the light
