    Hit and Miss

    There is something so whimsical about this sun-bleached traffic cone in the corner, flanked by little reflectors on metal sticks. Perhaps it is stuck in the corner because it has faded so far past instant visibility that it is no longer noticed, let alone used. If it is used, well–the cracks on the cone show that a driver or two definitely missed seeing it, but didn’t miss hitting it.     How Many Artists Have You Been?

    I am reading a book that I took out from our local library, titled The Nature of Design. It’s an excellent book, which, as the summary states, ” . . . works the same way a designer’s brain does–visually.” On page 145, a very unique house caught my attention. I looked up the credits at the back of the book and found architect Terry Brown. However, a Google search revealed that he died in a car accident in 2008.
